Estella HYLAND ? Halifax, Nova Scotia George Asaph Lynch September 25, 1905 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Windsor, Nova Scotia, St. John, New Brunswick, Estella (Hyland) Lynch was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her father was Thomas Hyland and her mother Ellen (Unknown) Hyland. Estella's brothers and sisters were: Thomas, Maurice, Mamie, Martha, Anne, Arthur, Elizabeth, Katherine and William. Estella married George Asaph Lynch b. June 10, 1884 in New London, Connecticut; d. November 20, 1953. This Lynch family originated first in Ireland and then went to Ferguson's Cove, Halifax Co., Nova Scotia. The children of Estella Hyland and George Asap Lynch are: Estella, Ethel Elizabeth, Lloyd Edward, Gordon Francis and Eva Mae Lynch. George Asaph Lynch was a baker by trade; he owned bakeries in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Windsor, Nova Scotia. He also was known to work in large hotels in the United States. In 1917, while living in St. John, New Brunswick, Estella Hyland Lynch deserted the family, leaving her husband and 5 children behind. ESTELLA HYLAND LYNCH WAS NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN. The 5 children were placed in an Orphanage run by the Sisters of Charity in Halifax, NS. Advertisements were also placed in the local newspaper to adopt the children out. Gordon Francis Lynch was adopted by a family named DUKE in Halifax. The other 4 children were placed in homes or work houses. Estella HYLAND Lynch may have had connections with families in the Wilmot area of Nova Scotia. Rumour has it that she died while working in a large hotel which caught fire - no doubt this would be somewhere in the New England States.  Her only remaining daughter - Eva Mae (Lynch) Aylward is now 94 yrs. of age, and I as her grand-daughter, would like to be able to find out what happened to her mother before she passes on. My great-grandmother ESTELLA HYLAND LYNCH is my biggest brick wall. All help would be most appreciated in finding out her whereabouts. Jonie Billard bunda@interlog.com
