Children: William Daniel Black. listed on the marriage certificate is her father Daniel Shutts and mother Jane Clovis. The two witnesses were Charles Shutts and Amy Shutts. I also found Charles & Amy Shutts in the Galesburg twp knox co Illinois. Charles head of household b 4-1873, Amy is wife b 3-1875, and there is also a daughter Clara L b 6-1898. The marriage certificate said Lena was 17 years old and had parental consent. .

Lilly's parents were born in Kentucky also 1910 Daviess Co, Ky - Owensboro. Age 48. Name now spelled Lillie. Number of children born,12. 1920 Vanderburgh Co, Ind - Evansville. Age 58.
Lilly's name has been spelled differently on several documents. i.e. Lilly, Lillie, Lillian Record shows they had 12 children. I have only been able to find 8. William N. ELLIS and Lilly were married in Spencer Co, Ind - Rockport. I have the marriage license. .

She died in Greene Co. 12 Apr 1870......I would really like to find UNITY's parents and siblings.....It is thought that she was born in VA?? but the earliest record I have of her is in Mercer Co.KY.....there were PATTERSON families in the area at the time, but so far I haven't been able to connect her to any of them....Wm. Patterson was the surety on her marriage record....thinking he was either her father, Uncle or brother?? I'm thinking that there is a possiblity that Armestead Patterson living in Mercer Co. was possibly her Uncle. She was a widow by 1850?? Never remarried. .

I only have found Susanna on the 1860 and 1870 Greene Co.IN census records so far......the 1850 Garrard Co.KY census records listed a LUCINDA?? Could this have been her Middle name? I have alot of unanswered questions about her....would like to find her parents and siblings. She lived her remaining years in Greene Co.IN.....I have yet to find her death record, but on her son Peyton's Civil War records it does state that she is his Mother....so I'm not sure of the birthdate for her as being 1820?? as he was born 1831?? .

Her date of birth was noted in the McClanahan family Bible as well as her date of death Sept. 16, 1880. I have been unable to locate her parents or siblings from SC. I'm hoping someone has connections to her with their ancestors! .

Children: Martha Ann, Paul, Mary Ann Celestial, Fannie, Eliza Ann. All children b. SC. The youngest, Eliza Ann, b. 1852 and mother Harriett may have died in childbirth or sometime from then until 1860. Martha Ann m. F. M. Lindsay and continued to live in SC. Father Hiram and the 3 other girls on Winston Co. MS 1860 census minus Harriett. Paul is believed to have died as a young adult but no facts are known about this. Mary Ann Celestial m. John Matthews in MS; Eliza m. Richmond Killough in Mississippi and moved to Hubbard City, Hill Co. Texas ca. 1880. Eliza died Nov. 10, 1919 and is buried in Altus, Oklahoma. .

Ethelwin later remarried and is found in the 1880 census of Colorado. .

First time Philena appears is in Cox Family of America married to Benjamin Cox of Chester Co., PA. Philenas maiden name is Dye and assumed her parents where Amos and Mary Chamberlain Dye but no birth record found. Cox family moved to Pickaway Co., Ohio, then McLean Co, Illinois. When and where was Philena Dye born? .

Marriage bond to Amos Dye in Middlesex, NJ in 1778 but no docs to support her being mother the Philena or others. Mary either died or divorce Amos probably abt 1790 possibly in Pennsylvania. Amos then moved to Prince Williams, VA, died an estate records at his death list wife Frances/Fannie. What ever happened to Mary Chamberlain Dye? .

John Haas' wife was found on the 1850 Census for Itawamba Co, MS. She was listed as Mary Ann. One child (James O) had his mother's name listed as Lucy in his family Bible with a death date of 17 Aug 1851. John remarried Mar 1852 so the death date is probably accurate. I have been searching for over 20 years for the actual name of John's wife and any information about her. .
