Elizabeth Ellen (CADE) GODFREY HARLOW 1833 Marion Co., Iowa John W. HARLOW(2nd marriage) John William GODFREY(1st marriage) 1859(1st) 1873(2nd) Children: John Nathan Godfrey, Mary Ann"Molly" Godfrey, Robert Godfrey, Edward Huston Godfrey. John W.Harlow had children also.
I don't have any copies of census information. She and John W. HARLOW were to have married in 1873; both were widowed with children. Her husband, John William GODFREY, had shot and killed from ambush in 1872 Iowa. A source of information told me that nothing much had been heard about Ellen and John W. HARLOW after they were married except that they were supposed to be heading to OK. Perhaps they never went there but stopped elsewhere. Ellen would be a g-g-grandmother of mine on my Dad's paternal side. Any help from those related to HARLOW and Ellen CADE GODFREY HARLOW would be greatly appreciated. .

Sarah Herrington Smith 1853 Burke County, Georgia (Waynesboro) Charlie Smith 1915 Georgia
First_Census: 1870. Children: Martha, Cassie, Trudy. Sarah was born a slave in Burke County, Georgia. She was owned by the family of William Herrington. She and 16 of her siblings lived on this plantation. After slavery, she and her siblings took the name Herrington. The lived in Waynesboro, Ga., Sardis, Ga. and
Millhaven. Sarah had a daughter by the name of Martha who was believed to be the product of a slave master relationship. Martha Chance was her name. Though because many family members were ashamed of Martha's ancestory they listed her as a Herrington. Sarah married well after Martha was grown. She married a man by the name of Charlie
"Sim" Smith. I found her Marriage record in the Burke, Co. courthouse in the year 1915. She is believed to have died in 1928. Probably in Burke, Co. or

Annie Ledgerwood 178? Botetourt or Montgomery Co, Va. Isaac Epling 1803 Virginia
First_Known_Census: 1850. Children: Paul, Henley, Allen, Isaac, Elizabeth, Margaret, Nancy, William, Philip.
Died in 1854 so the 1850 was the only one she was named in. Only clue to who her parents might have been was a mention in Botetourt Co., Va. court records, 1784, that said, "John Ledgerwood for keeping Lucy Kerr unlawfully and having a child by her." That's all it said. In 1801 Lucy Kerr became the second wife of Isaac Epling's father in Montgomery Co. and sometime between then and about 1803 Isaac Epling married Annie Ledgerwood. John and Lucy's illegitimate child? No proof has yet been found. Sure need some help. .
